The Fourth Horizon: A LOTR Roleplay


I am not the admin of this site, and therefore cannot make this a fancy call to attention advertisement. I want to say what our site is, and that we'd love to have you! In particular I address the admin of this site. We are in need of an Aragorn. Our original Admin held that role, but since his departure the seat has been open.

Plot line: Very open ended at this point in time. We take place a few years after the fall of Mordor and the departure of Frodo and Bilbo to the west. A council is forming in Mordor, made up of remnants of the former great dark powers. They have the long term goal in mind of releasing Morgoth and taking Middle Earth for themselves. Their efforts to do so and the Efforts of the free people of Rohan, Gondor, and all other powers to prevent them are intended to be the focus.

At this point in time the Free peoples do not know what is coming. We are interested in cannon characters as well as originals. There is a certain degree of quality we would like to, as a site, uphold. Many of our writers are well versed and manage more than 5 paragraphs a post.

Biography: Elaniver was born to Afeirer Addrodoc and Urisha Addrodoc in the White City of Gondor. His father immediately decided that he would go into service as he was rejected when he applied for the army, forcing him to go back to being a blacksmith. Elaniver started his life in the army at the age of 10, serving as a runner at first for those higher up in command delivering instructions. He would serve this job until the age of 15 when he started to train with blades, tought by any Gondopr soldier who happened to be in the same room as him.

At the age of 19 he was deemed ready to be classed as a full time warrior, showing certain skills throughout his training and his nack for hitting as hard as he could in the correct places to fell a full grown man. Even becoming known throughout the Gondor barracks as being 'The Loose Cannon'.

At the age of 20 he was taken out on his first skirmish and started up his independant and alternate ways of doing things, eventually breaking away from his regiment and taking the fight on himself, showing his devil may care attitude.

At the age of 24 he was called up the ranks and was given the newly created rank of 'World Warrior'. Which gave him the freedom to travel the world as he saw fit so long as there was a good enough reason for him to leave the White City. Unfortunately he took this privelidge for granted and simply didnt come back for 2 whole years, therefore missing the deaths of his parents. Elaniver was distraught and appealed to the King to be released from his service, promising that he would return when he was needed but imploring that he needed to travel and be alone for the time being. He was begrudgingly granted his wish and so left The White City, going where he pleased except for Mordor.

At the age of 26 he stayed for one month in the City of Lothlorian, where he persuaded the artists there to try a new and risky method of expressing oeself, tattoo's. He offered himself up as the specimin for testing and got his tattoo's only to be told that the elves wouldnt attempt it again as it put the specimen through too much pain to be considered an art form. Today, he remains travelling, keeping in touch with the news of Middle Earth as best he can when staying in a town or a city. Seeking danger whenever he can.

Personality: Elaniver has a strange personality as he fights for the good of those he cares for. He has some morals and definitely has a concience. He merely doesnt see how fighting fair is a bad thing if it is for a good cause, he see's Gondor as his child and consequently he is more than willing to fight dirty if needs must (or even if he doesnt have to). He has an ego but he makes sure he keeps it relatively in check, he has the desire to be greater warrior than anyone else but his determination that as long as there is an orc in Middle Earth then there is a chance something might try and eat him therefore they must go. When going into battle he gets into the persona of being as angry as he possibly can, this means that when going into battle his strenght is easily fuelled by a mixture of adrenaline, rage and his own fitness to keep him going through a battle of any length. Elaniver hates the idea of pre-planning how he is going to fight as he is strong in the beleif that when you do actually fight, all thought of pre-planning or strategy is erased and replaced by the basic human instict to survive. Elaniver is willing to follow the tactics of others however if he see's an oppertunity to make the tactics slightly more effective he is never afraid to suggest it to his commanding officor or even to just do something else in the thick of battle. Elaniver doesnt really mind the idea of being under someones command and in most cases he welcomes the companionship of his fellow man however he feels that his talents and attributes would be better used in giving him a goal to acheive and him acheiving it rather than going along with the crowd as he usually clears a path much faster than his fellow warriors.

CHRONICLES OF GREENFORD

The East India Trading Company comes to Port Royal, a white horse rides with energy for the sand, observing each of the soldiers of Royal Navy, an army who was granted him by the King of England to help to fulfill a mission, to finish with the piracy of the ocean. This man does not need presentation, only we can call him, " Pirates' killer or the Gray wolf".With him it takes three orders of execution: One for Elisabeth Swann, other one for William Turner and the last one for his worst enemy, the pirate who him marked in the past,the Captain Jack Sparrow, that now, he is a little busy in recovering certain key to open a mysterious chest ... that will not rest up to having it in his power, but in his way he will cross with many rivals, as the Commodore Norrington, now turned into pirate after being expelled from the royal navy and many dangers, like the Dutchman´s Captain who has returned to ask jack that pay his debt.....

The intentions of the England kingdom don't limit only to stop the threat pirate but to exterminate it completely. Meanwhile new information about of the so many seculars broods some pirates, Greenford, is more and more next to the territories conquered for the crown by the East India Trading Company and that new objective and new earth it becomes to unify together with the others that belong to the others of the England kingdom. The coordinates to reach it are not clear, the pirates doesn't allow to easily deceive and during the centuries they have studied plans and hideaways for the them same land, making Greenford an almost impregnable pirate fortress. The crown cannot afford to leave that earth among the others that faithfully obey and they are of ownership of the England, that moor of pirates it is a thorn in the side of the crown and must be conquered and if not freed by the pirates, that burn then under the fire of the guns and pierced through by the insensitive pieces of metal of the weapons. Greenford constitutes a sure and secular burrow for the pirates, an excellent port of restocking on the surrounding waters and an earth that the pirates cannot absolutely abdicate.
Will be war.

(The plot of this website does not exactly follow that of the Lord of the Rings. Once we begin, it will be as though we are starting in the First Age, and all of the characters that we know from the Third Age will be alive at the time. The world is fresh, the rings have not been forged, and all is well. It is up to you, the roleplayers, to shape the world as you see fit. Whether it be by declaring war if you have such capabilites, forging the rings if you are Sauron (or not, as it is up to you), and everything else. This is your world to mold, so treat it as such. Please note that the descriptions of the boards for the locations in Middle-earth do not follow this description, and they are not meant to. They are instead meant to be used as a foundation of what the locations are like.)

It is the dawn of the First Age of Middle-earth, and all is peaceful. But, as it is all too well known, a utopia cannot last. Peace, war, deception, construction, and other marvels await the unshapened lands, and they appear to be coming on fast. Cities are to be built, kings to be crowned, and alliances to be forged. Towers to crumble, leaders to be murdered, and war to be waged. The world of Middle-earth is a fragile one, and its future is greatly unknown...

Personality: It has been theorised that many of Treebeard's mannerisms were based on Tolkien's friend C.S. Lewis, a loud, bombastic man known for his powerful stride and overwhelming presence.


History:

Treebeard or (Sindarin) Fangorn is the oldest of the Ents, a tree-like being who is a sort of "shepherd of trees". Very tall and stiff-limbed, with bark-like skin and leafy hair, he befriends Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) and Peregrin Took (Pippin) after they escape from Orcs. He lives in Fangorn forest, which is named after him (or he after it).

Like most Ents, Treebeard takes a long time to make up his mind. He repeatedly speaks of not "being hasty". Treebeard is described as the oldest being in Middle-earth, which is the cause of some confusion as Tom Bombadil is also called oldest. Treebeard however says that there are trees in Fangorn that are 'older than he'. The general consensus is that Treebeard is the oldest "living thing" in Middle-earth, as Tom Bombadil isn't exactly a member of any race.

As you can see in our shop, we have many items that look exactly the same. Some items dont even have a picture! Therefore, I am going to hold a contest. All you have to do is PM me an image for whatever item (or items) and I'll reward you! You can do as many as you want, and its a great way to help out the site.

Okay, you all know how to use the shop. Its where you spend your hard earned money to buy weapons. However, there are a few things we'd like you to know.

-The shop MAY go down from time to time. We don't know what causes it, so just ignore it. It will come back up within 10 minutes of it going down. Usually, anyway.

-Some item images may display as red X's sometimes. Ignore this. We also dont know why this happens. The pictures ARE NOT broken. If you want to see them before you buy them, just exit the shop and go back.

-What you have bought from the shop is WHAT YOU HAVE! The item pictures show up in your mini profiles, so we do know. If you don't have a sword, you can't use a sword in your RP. If you dont have an axe, you cant use an axe. You get it.

Humans: The Humans are very friendly and strong. They are wise and brave. Many of them live in Helms Deep. Other live in other unknown places.

Hobbits: The Hobbits are small and have hairy feet. They do not wear shoes and are very unique. They live in the Shire and the Bree. They are a peaceful peaceful people.

Orcs: The Orcs are serving Sauron and they are located in Mordor. The Orcs are blood thirsty creatures and always do what they are told from The Eye.

Elves: The Elves live in Mirkwood and they are very skilled with a bow. Swordmanship is also good with their skill and they have very quick attacks.

Dwarves: The Dwarves are very wise and small. They are intelligent and great with crafting!

Ogres: The Orges are huge and taller than other races. They are usually fat and strong and fight with a club!

Ents: The Ents live in Fangorn Forest. They are very strong, but weak when it comes to Fire and Flames. Isengard was taken over by Sauron and the Ents grew furious. They attacked Isengard, Treebeard leading. Ents are tree like Humans and brave and noble.

Trolls: The Trolls live in Dark Caves. They are thiefs and steel gold from the rich. They also are very stubborn and mean. They like eating Humans for dinner. They are usually fat and hairy. They're hair is very damp.
